Goodreads Reading Goal 2016

Hi! welcome to my blog.
For my first post I thought I'd share my reading challenge goal for 2016...
This year I am hoping to read 25 books. I know, it's nothing compared to some people who are planning on reading 100+.

The reason I set my goal so low is because of a few reasons:
A) This year I am in senior school and I (sadly) have to have education as my main priority, though I of course would much rather be reading than studying.
B) I only got back into reading towards the end of 2015, so not only am I a slow reader, I don't want to overwhelm myself and cause any reading slumps.
C) I am a writer and when I'm not doing anything I like to spend my free time writing (I am currently in the middle of writing a fantasy and I LOVE it!), so I do balance my time between reading and writing equally.

Okay, now I am going to give you the run-down of all the books I have read so far and add a rating to them:

  1. Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins. I read The Hunger Games series for the first time during the christmas holidays and LOVED it so much. I gave this book a 5/5 stars.
  2. Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins. This book was a bit anti-climactic compared to the other novels in the trilogy, but nonetheless I still enjoyed it enough to rate it 4/5 stars.
  3. The Heir by Kiera Cass. The selection series hold a special place in my heart, but I didn't enjoy this book as much as the others in the series. 4/5 stars.
  4. Girl Online On Tour by Zoe Sugg (aka Zoella). I will make a separate post on my views of the Girl Online series. I didn't love this book, but I didn't hate it either. 3/5 stars.
  5. A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J Maas. This was actually the first Sarah J Maas book I ever read and I seriously enjoyed it! I gave it a 5/5 stars.
  6. Glass Sword by Victoria Aveyard. I am very on the fence about the Red Queen series. At some points I love it and at others... not so much. I did enjoy this book, though. It had a lot of action and thrill, but no romance (to my dismay). 4/5 stars
  7. Throne of Glass by Sarah J Maas. I was definitely very excited to begin the very hyped Throne of Glass series. The concept of this novel was really cool and filled with really hard to pronounce names. Celaena Sardothien is a badass and for that I gave it a 5/5 stars.
  8. Crown of Midnight by Sarah J Maas. Sadly I got spoiled, so the big plot-twist finale wasn't as shocking for me. I still really enjoyed this book as it lifted me up and then shattered me to pieces... my ship... my poor, poor ship... (If you read this book, I'm sure you'll understand which ship [couple] I am talking about) 4/5 stars.
  9. Heir of Fire by Sarah J Maas. So I started off kind of hating seeing everything from Manon's point of view and despised Rowan... but I still liked the storyline and am obsessed with Caelana and frustrated with chaol. 4/5 stars.
  10. Queen of Shadows by Sarah J Maas. SO, SO EPIC. I shed a few of tears towards the end. I came to love both Manon and Rowan in this book. 5/5 stars.
(I also read The Giver by Lois Lowry for school, but didn't want to count it...)

Currently, I am coming towards the end of A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J maas and have gone through so much emotional turmoil... possibly the best book ever though.
I hope you enjoyed this little post.
Thank you so much for stopping by!

Happy reading,

Love Zoe x
