I feel like I haven't properly introduced myself!
My name is Zoe, I am 16 years old and living in Australia.
As well as reading I enjoy, writing, fashion, beauty and nature.
And today I am going to tell you 25 book-related facts about me!
- My favourite series is Harry Potter
- I ALWAYS read before bed (I put it in capitals, bold, italics and underlined it so you would get the drift. Always.)
- I can't read outside... I get too distracted.
- I have always been encouraged by my parents to read at least 3 pages before bed, even since I was little.
- The longest book I ever read was probably Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (766 pages)
- I always rather UK edition books to US (which is lucky because I can only get UK)
- I wear prescription glasses, but only to see far away... like reading the board at school or street signs when I'm driving.
- I think the first YA (young adult) book I ever read was Switched by Amanda Hocking (+ the rest of the series) when I was 12. I got it for free with a magazine and actually loved it.
- I prefer books without full on sex scenes in them because I'm super immature and start laughing while reading them. I do like a bit of steaminess though... just not too over the top
- I don't know if this counts as a bookish fact, but I had the BIGGEST crush on Daniel Radcliffe (The guy that plays Harry Potter) when I was 11.
- Currently, I really like High Fantasy novels.
- My least favourite book ever is..... Allegiant by Veronica Roth- Don't hate me!
- I always hate the books I have to read for class... (maybe I'm just trying to be rebellious against school.)
- I read The Hunger Games for the first time at the start of 2016
- My ultimate life goal is to publish a novel and to be able to go to my local bookstore and see it on the shelf :)
- I am currently writing a YA high fantasy novel that is a retelling... (I'll tell you more some day.)
- I can't eat or drink when I read, otherwise I get too distracted
- I only enjoy reading paperbacks... hardcovers are too uncomfortable
- I have never met an author before, but I do have a copy of Glass Sword by Victoria Aveyard which is signed
- I don't take notes while reading, and never have tried because I just like being present in the novel.
- I judge books by their covers... I don't buy ugly books unless I have heard good reviews on them.
- I used to always read the last page of a book before I started it- Don't worry though! I stopped that phase.
- I always have to finish a series eventually even if it's bad, otherwise I just feel strange and like something's missing.... I don't know how to explain it.
- I have read the entire Harry Potter series about 4 times ( and I've actually read The Prisoner of Azkaban 5 times)
- When organising my shelf, the series all have to stay together. I can't have book 1 on one shelf book 2 on another and book 3 somewhere else. The series need to stay in a nice, neat and ordered line.
So there you have it! A little bit more about me. I hope this was somewhat enjoyable and hey, maybe we have some bookish facts in common. Thanks for stopping by.
Happy reading,
